25th March 2020
Clydeplan today published its latest Development Plan Scheme and Participation Statement (March 2020 - March 2021). The purpose of the Development Plan Scheme is to outline the steps which Clydeplan will take in support ofimplementing the new planning system as set out in the Planning (Scotland) Act 2019 www.legislation.gov.uk/asp/2019/13/contents/enacted in particular with regard to supporting the development of National Planning
Framework 4, through the preparation of an indicative Regional Spatial Strategy and the future preparation of a Regional Spatial Strategy for the Glasgow City Region.
As Scotland’s only metropolitan area the Clydeplan local authorities have a long standing commitment to, and recognition of the value of strategic land use planning for the west of Scotland. The authorities recognise the importance of having a land use spatial strategy for the City Region which supports the delivery of its economic, social and environment ambitions.
In this respect Clydeplan will therefore continue to support partnership working and will seek to engage with key stakeholders in developing any future strategy along with related strategic planning activities, having cognisance of the Planning (Scotland) Act 2019 and the actions contained within the refreshed Glasgow City Region’s Economic Strategy which is due for publication in late 2020.
